UPDATE ON FEBRUARY 3

The insurance adjuster was here this morning for about 2 hours. My insurance will cover all reconstruction and repairs. It will clean our clothes but not replace them. They will clean our walls, ceiling and floors but paint and replacements is on a depreciation bases. They also will not cover anything in my business. I have to move all of my shop out at my expense.

We managed to save all of my patterns. However some orders I had all ready to ship got smoke damaged and I have to replace all of that at my expense.

The structure: The entire area around the gas furnace, water heater and wood furnace is totally destroyed. several floor joists for the main floor of the house were burned pretty bad. The fire burned a hole through the bedroom floor and partially up the wall. Part of the sill plate, the header plate and several of the 2x4 studs are burned beyond recognition. They will all have to be replaced. My basement wall is part cement block and a double wall 2x4 knee wall. The chimney cracked from the top to the bottom after it cooled so it will have to be repaired or replaced.

I will be out of business for at least 2 months. My initial thought was to rent a shop at out local industrial center but they will not rent to me with anything that has a smoke smell. So, I guess we will just have wait and see. I pray my customers understand. I am emailing Turning Wheels to see if they will put an announcement in.
