Yes we know that’s five cities, but that’s the way it is.

Our monthly meetings are normally held on the 4^th Monday of the
month at 7:00PM at the Deere Wiman Carriage House
located at 817 11^th Avenue in Moline, Illinois.

ONE BIG SIX MEMBER KILLED, ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT ON FRIDAY JUNE 26!

David Kahn and his Grandmother Julie Hogan were involved in a horrific accident in central Illinois while on their way to a weekend car show. Julie was pronounced dead at the scene and David is in a hospital in Peoria in serious condition.

UPDATE JULY 2

I just returned from Julie's visitation & spoke to several family members about David's condition. He is serious, but stable. He has a large laceration to his forehead, and many broken & crushed ribs. He had surgery to repair a torn aorta upon his arrival (by air ambulance) at the hospital. He is still on a ventilator but is slowly being taken off of it. With a mouth and throat full of tubes he isn't speaking but is communicating with doctors and family. They have had him sitting up some and that, to me, is a good sign. The address at the hospital is: Saint Francis Medical Center  5301 NE Glen Oak Ave.  Peoria, IL 61637. He is in room 4112, and will be for a while. Our newsletter Liz reported the following: There were 10 Studies present at the funeral service:  Zimmerman's, Shurson, Elmore's, Floto's, Ken Anderson, Dick Snyder, Brewer's, Sax's car driven by a friend of David, Filippi's, and Ruhnke's.  The Warrens were there from Indiana, but did not drive their Avanti. Ray Anderson rode with Ken and Una joined us at the church for lunch.

The Big 6 River Bend Chapter voted to host the 2010 Zone Meet!

Don't forget to drive your Studebaker (or Packard) to the next function to get your mileage recorded. You could be one of the two DRIVERS OF THE YEAR! (Remember we have two awards this year, one for most miles driven and another for most participation in shows or events.

July 4, 2009    International DRIVE YOUR STUDEBAKER DAY!! Get out there and participate! The Big 6 chapter will participate in the Bettendorf parade and will cruise to Walcott, IA where we will stage a car show at the CHECKERED FLAG RESTAURANT. We will line up our cars in the SellPro parking lot at 3030 State Street in Bettendorf at 8:30 AM and leave for the parade lineup at 9AM SHARP (The club will pay a $15 fee for our entire contingent... if you are late it will cost you $15 per car to participate!) After the parade is over we will convoy to Walcott where one of the chefs will possibly have a special menu item just for us. I have arranged for separate checks. The Checkered Flag is in the same building as Grandma's Kitchen; they are on the north side of Interstate 80 and across the road west of the I-80 Truckstop.
